RESEARCH GROUP RECOGNIZED AND FILED UNDER " CLASS A" BY COLCIENCIAS ( ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE , TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION ), UNDER NATIONAL CALL FOR RECOGNITION AND MEASUREMENT OF RESEARCH GROUPS, TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OR INNOVATION AND RECOGNITION OF RESEARCHERS SNCTEI - 2014.
About us
The Tissue Engineering Research Group at the Pharmacy Department in the National University of Colombia, was formed in 1999 by Martha Raquel Fontanilla with the aim of establishing the technologies required for the development and scaling of the artificial tissues production that can be used as substitutes of native tissue in the treatment of wounds, or as biological models to study repair and regeneration mechanisms that are modulated by the substitutes grafted onto wounds.
Our research projects have linked masters and doctoral students, allowing qualified training in this area of knowledge. There have been research projects that have won the following awards: XI Aventis Prize -National Academy of Medicine at the best research project in the Biomedical Area (2000); Best Dental Research at the XIV National Meeting and III Latin American Dental Research (2003); Honorable Mention for Best Research in Basic Sciences in the XIV Aventis Prize National Academy of Medicine (2003); Best research project Award for Dental Research Rafael Torres Pinzón Colombian Dental Federation (2004).
